EE 16 - Niall Horgan - CEO & Co-Founder Gym+Coffee
Launched in January 2017, on the week of blue Monday, Gym+Coffee began life in the toughest way possible after missing out on lucrative Christmas sales.
Undeterred, the 3 founders have turned Gym+Coffee into one of Ireland’s leading names in the athleisure space in just 2 years!
Niall and his co-founders, Diarmuid and Karl worked in regular full-time jobs whilst trying to get Gym+Coffee off the ground for almost 12 months.
Loved by sport stars such as Brian O’Driscoll and Joe Wicks, they have managed to launch their brand into the mainstream thanks to a loyal community and clever marketing.
At a time when large retailers are closing stores, they are bucking the trend and have successfully made the leap from online to offline. We discover how they have succeeded where some larger brands have failed.
Niall has spent over 9 years in various sales and marketing roles including time at Twitter, Slack, Sky and Irish Mainport Holdings. During this time he was responsible for setting up International sales operations, building and scaling sales teams across the EMEA region, all while working with brands and agencies on their digital marketing strategies. In 2016 he was named one of the Sunday Independent's Top 30 Under 30 in Ireland. Niall has a huge interest in sport and keeping fit, he had a number of years playing GAA with Cork winning an All Ireland Medal and 4 Munster Medals in football and hurling, he has ran the Cape Town marathon and enjoys a daily Crossfit workout.
